Increased capital participation in ACME

March 6, 2017

In February 2017 Incofin cvso decided to increase the capital participation in ACME in Haiti from 14% to 18.2%. The shares were purchased from the founder, Mr. Bernard de Brouwer. David Dewez, Incofin’s Regional Manager for Latin America and the Caribbean, was reappointed as member of the Board of Directors. Incofin cvso has been investing in ACME ever since the foundation of the institution in 2009.

ACME is market leader in Haiti, with over 30,000 clients and a portfolio of nearly 20 million USD. The MFI has a clear focus: 70% of the clients are women, and 41% are concentrated in areas where the poverty level exceeds the national average. 75% of all transactions are microloans to small traders, and many of the branches are established in rural areas.

The MFI is the paragon of enormous resilience. They survived several climatic, political and economy-related shocks, including the 2010 earthquake and hurricane Matthew in 2016.
